We are open all weekend and black holiday monday too so plenty of time to pop down and have a wander. We have fantastic food in the cafe and from the wok also. And plenty of other goodies from scrummy mummy and other hand baked stalles and dont forget to fill up a few bags of the old skool sweets!!!

Design shed Ireland house all things creative under one roof. We can showcase up to 16 artists and crafts people at one time. Dún Laoghaire artist, Veronica Heywood showcases her mythological landscapes in a solo show at The Blackrock Market Cafe in May and June. ‘Ag Seasamh an Fhóid’ will feature a selection of works from throughout her career.

In her practice, Veronica creates a visual diary of Ireland through Watercolour and Drawing. When she sets out to visit a new part of Ireland, she researches it’s history, archaeology, flora and fauna, and it’s people, so that she will know where to look for inspiration. Veronica always works Plein-Air, to capture the magic of the moment.

Veronica studied at The Central School of Art and Design, London and Salisbury School of Art, Wiltshire. She has had solo shows in Ireland, Europe, USA, Australia and Hong Hong.  She teaches Painting and Drawing at DCFE and runs Summer Painting schools on Ireland and England.
